    2008 has been a busy year, with Hugh having just returned from a trip into the wilds of the Congo Basin in Central Africa. Here, he encountered gorillas in the wild and photographed pygmies that had never had white contact.

    Recently returned from a trip along the Kimberley Coast photographing some of the World's oldest and most priceless indigenous rock art. It is thought that these paintings may well hold the key to helping trace mankind's early movements around the globe.

Patterns and Aerials

The floatplane points west toward the setting sun as the shores of Freshwater Cove fall further behind.  Montgomery Island beckons.  The reef, and its channels, mask schools of mackeral and tuna and dolphins and dugong.  The dropping tide makes for brilliant “rivers of gold”: one of the most beautiful reefs in the world.  The resulting image brings brush-stroke swirls of blue and gold: the work of nature’s own impressionist painter.  Join Hugh as he searches to bring together the wondrous, immense and stunningly diverse continent that we call home.
