2008 has been a busy year, with Hugh having just returned from a trip into the wilds of the Congo Basin in Central Africa. Here, he encountered gorillas in the wild and photographed pygmies that had never had white contact.

Recently returned from a trip along the Kimberley Coast photographing some of the World's oldest and most priceless indigenous rock art. It is thought that these paintings may well hold the key to helping trace mankind's early movements around the globe.

Ranges and Escarpments

The chopper descends into exploding Spinifex balls.  The air is a mass of white smoke.  To the west, the setting sun is a red hot mass of red.  We rise out of the flames and drop over the edge.  Suddenly, the world opens up to a blazing mass of orange and green.  Below lies the pristine waters of the Carson River.  I look through the viewfinder.  In the bottom of the frame, a small shadow can be seen.  The tiny outline of the helicopter in which we both now sit: dwarfed by the towering cliffs of the Carson Escarpment running for over fifty kilometres.  Spectacular in their scale.  Wondrous in their beauty.  Nature, always so stunning in the gifts that it presents.  Born in Australia’s High Country, take a trip with Hugh through some of Australia’s most dramatic and beautiful range and escarpment country.
