An evening with your portrait under one of the world's most beautiful night skies.

No two nights are the same, and neither is your portrait. Even without you in it, the landscape and night sky alone make a breathtaking image for your wall. But with you added, the photo becomes something truly personal — a moment in your life captured beneath an extraordinary sky.

It's perfect for couples, newlyweds, families, or anyone who wants a portrait that goes beyond the ordinary.
Our evening together
Prior to our shoot I will contact you to discuss clothing and colour choices — these are critical to getting the best results from our time together.

On the day of your shoot I will collect you and we'll drive to our chosen location just before sunset, where we'll relax with a glass of wine and some nibblies to ease you into the mood.

Our shoot begins at dusk — what photographers now call the blue hour. It's a magical time of day, offering some of the most beautiful natural light available for portrait photography.

Depending on your schedule, I can return you to town afterwards, or you're welcome to stay while I complete the night sky component of your portrait. Depending on the time of year, this can take anywhere between two and four hours.

Many of my clients choose to stay. Most have never seen stars so bright or skies so dark — and the peace, tranquility and sense of solitude beneath what I call the world's greatest trillion star movie screen is something few people ever get to experience.
On top of lifelong memories, the following are included
Memories of a magical evening beneath the Broome night sky.

Fine wine and nibblies shared under the stars.

A deep appreciation of just how extraordinary the Kimberley night sky truly is.

A large, beautifully printed portrait — you, photographed in a breathtaking landscape beneath one of the darkest, most spectacular skies on earth.
What makes this evening so special
Most tourists who visit Broome see it by day. Few venture out after dark, and fewer still make it beyond the town lights to where the real magic happens.

This evening is designed to show you a side of the Kimberley that most visitors never get to experience — the raw, ancient beauty of its landscapes at sunset, and the breathtaking spectacle of its night sky once the light fades.

As someone who has spent years photographing this landscape, I know exactly where to go and when.

You're not just getting a portrait — you're getting an insider's guide to one of the most beautiful places on earth, at the most beautiful time of day.

Your Photographer

My name is Hugh Brown and I have been photographing the Kimberley and Pilbara night skies for almost 30 years.

I have published nine best selling coffee table books and for much of the past 20 years have been working on projects in some of the world's most difficult and remote places. I have worked in over 30 countries.

I have held major photographic exhibitions in China (Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo) and Africa. In 2020 I was named one of the top 100 corporate social responsibility influencers by Assent Compliance in Canada for my work promoting and documenting the lives of some of the world's poorest miners.

I have photographed people all around the world including royalty and senior religious and business leaders. I have a passion for the magic of natural light and portraits in the natural environment.

The Kimberley is my home and passion. Which is why my last book on the region was called The Kimberley - Tierra De Mi Alma - Land of My Soul.
